are you Ready to be an intended parent?
Initial Application:
Prospective egg donors will complete the ALS application form which includes personal information, medical history, family history, educational background, and general demographic details.
Pre-Screening evaluation:
A Case Manger from our team will review the initial application and conduct a pre-screening evaluation to assess the candidate’s suitability. We then conduct brief interviews, over the phone or Zoom, to gather more information and answer any initial questions the potential donor may have about the process.
Comprehensive Medical Evaluation:
If the pre-screening evaluation is successful, the prospective egg donor is then added to our database, where intended parents can review and select a suitable donor. Once that donor is chosen by intended parents she will undergoes a thorough medical evaluation with their chosen IVF clinic. This usually includes a comprehensive physical examination, including a pelvic exam, blood tests, and ultrasound imaging to assess ovarian reserve and general health. The medical evaluation also includes screening for infectious diseases, genetic conditions, and hormonal levels.
Genetic Testing and counseling:
ALS requires genetic testing for prospective egg donors to identify any hereditary conditions or genetic disorders. Genetic counseling may be offered to the donor to discuss the implications of their results and potential risks to offspring.
Psychological Evaluation:
Egg donors will undergo a psychological evaluation or counseling session to assess their mental and emotional well-being. This helps ensure that donors are psychologically prepared for the emotional aspects of the donation process.
Legal Consultation:
Egg donors will be required to meet with an attorney specializing in reproductive law to discuss the legal aspects of egg donation. This includes reviewing and signing legal agreements that outline the rights, responsibilities, and compensation of all parties involved.
Donation Cycle:
Once the medical and legal requirments are met the egg donor will begin the process of taking medications at the guidance of the IVF clinic in preparation for her egg retrieval.
